Frequently Asked Questions
Here are some of Love Worth Finding’s most frequently asked questions from people who have been touched by its ministry and from those who just want to know more.
Q: What is Love Worth Finding?
A: Love Worth Finding, a radio and TV ministry, was started to help people find the kind of love that is beyond anything they’ve experienced before–the love that can only be found through a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Today, LWF is a worldwide Christian ministry dedicated to spreading the good news of Jesus and encouraging and building people up in the knowledge of Christ.
Q: How did Love Worth Finding get started?
A: Love Worth Finding was founded by pastor and Bible teacher Dr. Adrian Rogers. Dr. Rogers pastored the 28,000 member Bellevue Baptist Church in Memphis, Tennessee, and served three times as the president of the 14-million member Southern Baptist Convention. “We were called into this ministry,” said Dr. Rogers. “People were requesting tapes of the messages, and soon the requests began to grow to the point that we knew God was leading us into a broader ministry.”
Q: How can I find out more about God’s love, plan, and purpose for me?
A: Love Worth Finding believes that the Bible is the Word of God and that it holds the truths about Jesus’ life, death, burial, and resurrection. Love Worth Finding also offers books, audio, videotapes, and study guides that help guide you through the Bible and teach you how to apply its principles to your life. You can find out more about these materials by exploring more of the LWF website. You also can visit Who Is Jesus? for a closer look.
Q: Is salvation in Jesus Christ the only way to heaven?
A: Somehow, in the matter that matters the most, our eternal destiny, people say, “Well, it just doesn’t matter what you believe. All roads lead to heaven.” No they do not. There is one gospel, and it is the gospel of the grace of God.
How are we saved? “For by grace are you saved through faith and that not of yourselves.” (Ephesians 2:8). You can’t buy it, borrow it, steal it, or earn it. It is grace of God and it was bought by Christ on the cross. Friend, when He finished, it was accomplished and you cannot deplete it or add to it. It is the supernatural work of God.
Salvation is not a creed. You’re not saved by the plan of salvation; you’re saved by the Man of salvation. It’s not a cause or a church. It’s Christ. We have so much religious mayhem in the world today because people have met creeds, not Christ. They’ve entered into codes of living, but not Christ. They join churches without meeting Christ. Salvation is not believing something, it is receiving Someone.
Acts 4:10-12 says: “Be it known unto you all, and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom ye crucified, whom God raised from the dead, even by Him doth this man stand here before you whole. This is the stone which was set at nought of you builders, which is become the head of the corner. Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.” Jesus is not just a good way to heaven; He’s the only way to heaven.
You see, if one particle of it depends upon me, then I have to ask myself: am I good enough? I’m in bondage. I can never know. But when I’m saved by the grace of God, it all depends on Him. I don’t have to be a question mark with my head bent over. I can be an exclamation point, standing up straight and saying, “Praise God! I’m saved!”
Q: How do you give your life to Jesus?
A: Do you have the assurance that if you were to die right now, you would go straight to heaven? If not, please let me tell you how you can be saved:
Admit Your Sin: First, you must understand that you are a sinner. The Bible says, “All have sinned, and fall short of the glory of God” (Romans 3:23).
Abandon Self-Effort: You cannot save yourself by your efforts. The Bible is very clear that it’s “not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to His mercy He saved us” (Titus 3:5). Again, “By grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God; not of works, lest any man should boast” (Ephesians 2:8-9).
Acknowledge Christ’s Payment: You must believe that Jesus Christ, the Son of God, died for your sins. The Bible says, “God commendeth His love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us” (Romans 5:8). That means He died in your place. Your sin debt has been paid by the blood of Jesus Christ, which “cleanseth us from all sin” (1 John 1:7).
Accept Him as Savior: You must put your faith in Jesus Christ, and Him alone for your salvation. The blood of Christ does you no good until you receive Him by faith. The Bible says, “Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved” (Acts 16:31).
Have you ever taken this all-important step of faith? If not, I urge you to do it right now. Why? Because Jesus is the only way to heaven! Speaking of Jesus, Peter said in Acts 4:12, “Neither is there salvation in any other; for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.” Jesus Himself said, “I am the way, the truth and the life; no man cometh unto the Father, but by Me” (John 14:6). It couldn’t be any clearer than that.
Are you willing to offer the following prayer to God today? “Oh God, I’m a sinner. I’m lost, and I need to be saved. I know I can’t save myself, so right now, once and for all, I trust You to save me. Come into my heart, forgive my sin, and make me your child. I give You my life. I will live for You as You give me strength.”
If you will make this your heartfelt prayer, God will hear and save you! Jesus has promised that He will not turn away anyone who comes to Him in faith (John 6:37). He will make you a child of God, if you will turn to Him (John 1:12). Will you trust Him today?
